The effects of the withdrawal of vitamin E from the diet of maturing rainbow trout were assessed in the female, in the developing eggs, and in the resultant offspring. Groups of 6 pretreated female rainbow trout (initial weight 598 g) were either deprived of vitamin E or supplemented with 90 mg dl-alpha-tocopherol acetate per kg diet in early, middle or late stages of egg maturation.
