Description This view of the Grand Coulee, taken from the west wall several miles below Steamboat Rock, vividly portrays the immensity and grandeur of this unique chasm. This remarkable canyon, and its counterpart, Moses Coulee, cut by the drainage from the 4,000 foot thick Okanogan Lobe of the great ice cap, some ten or twelve miles to the southwest, are without like or equal in the world.
