| Description |
This is the west excavation area as seen from block 40 in November of 1935. Both trestles are being rapidly extended as the bedrock receives its final clearance from the inspectors. <br> Under the MWAK contract two trestles were necessary because of the great width of the base of the dam. All of these trestles, and the greater portion of the height of still another was buried in the dam as it rose to an elevation level with the roadway seen above the mixing plant.
