Description Here the excavation has progressed considerably. Trucks on the Westside have been supplanted by the $75,000 conveyor belt system to Rattlesnake Canyon, except in the area of the west slides, which can be seen in the extreme right of the picture. The highway on the west side has been raised, and the west cofferdam is beginning to take shape. On Nov. 30, 1934 MWAK Co. purchased from the Inland Steel Co. of Chicago, thru the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, 20,000 tons of steel sheet piling for...
