Description Here at Grand Coulee Dam, construction methods and mechanisms were extended to new horizons. The conveyor system of handling muck began with the members of the MWAK Co. In 1931-32 the Silas Mason Co. used such a system in construction of the Boston Traffic Tunnel, and the Mason, Walsh Construction Co. used the conveyor system of carrying material when constructing the diversion tunnels at Ft. Peck Dam. At Grand Coulee Dam the system received its most severe test in handling more than 13...
