Title Final Closing of Cross-River Cofferdam
 
Description Notice that sections of the cross-river cofferdams are left out to permit the river to flow in its usual channel while the anchor or key cribs are sunk in their proper positions. On Dec. 09, 1936 the last cribs were in position and within 30 hours the openings between the cribs were closed with stop logs, and by Dec. 12th. the entire river was flowing thru the diversion channel. Some idea of the immense size of the wooden structure built downstream from block 40 may be gained by comparison...
