Description This is the start of the downstream arm of the crossriver cofferdam projecting from the east shore. A power barge is maneuvering two timber cribs into position preparatory to sinking. In the background is the first east side cofferdam, constructed of Wakefield piling, back of which the east side excavation is in progress.'
