Here is shown the removal of the downstream section of the west cofferdam below the now-completed block 40. This will permit the river to flow thru the completed section of the dam off to the right, and enter its old channel to the left. The cross-river cofferdam is now almost complete. The original plan for diverting the river involved passing the entire flow thru a new channel on the east side of the stream.
