| Description |
This shows final clearing of bedrock in the spillway section just east of block 40. Final clearing of bedrock was done by hand, removing all loose and "drum" rock to provide a clean, firm footing for the dam. Rock excavation for the foundation of the dam was bid by MWAK at $2.00 per cubic yard. The timber structure in the background is the wooden cribbing or plug fitting between the curved downstream contour of block 40 and the downstream arm of the cross-river cofferdam
