When Wheatbelt Steel discusses the Height of a shed, we are referring to the Gutter Height. This is the measurement from the lowest level of the roof sheeting to the ground level.

Clearance Height, however, refers to the measurement from the lowest point of the roof truss, rafter or door. (i.e. any items which exceed the Clearance Height will not be able to pass under the roof truss).

Most shires will allow building against a boundary; however it is necessary to build a firewall on the boundary line. In residential areas it is recommended to seek your neighbors’ approval as well.

For long-term cost-effectiveness and return on investment, Wheatbelt Steel recommends Ridge Vents. Ridge Vents are maintenance free due to having no moving parts. By comparison, a whole flock of whirly birds would be required to achieve the same results as a Ridge Vent!

You can quickly calculate the rain captured: multiply the millimeters of expected rainfall over the area of your shed’s roof (measured in square meters) to yield the captured rain in litres. For example, 12mm of rain x 100m² of roof area = 1,200 litres
